I'm not a 'hint' person, because I know myself that I never understand intentions unless someone is blunt with me. Just be upfront and tell him how you feel, there's nothing wrong with that. I always make the first move with my partner before we got together, I even asked him out in the end because I wanted to be with him but knew he wasn't completely comfortable with it. Don't waste time with hints that will probably be missed, it'll just hurt you in the end if he doesn't pick up on them and you assume that means he isn't into you
