Ladies I could use some advice..

I delivered my first baby in January..My return date back to work is March 5..my intentions were to definitely go back to work...after discussing this multiple times with my husband we’ve decided it would be best for me to not return to work and stay home with our son. I have been employed with this company for a little over 11 years...they were great and understanding my entire pregnancy. I need to tell them I wont be returning and I feel so horrible about it! I’ve been to the office since delivery to pick up a few checks I had left and everyone is so excited to see me and constantly asking when I’m coming back😶 the big administrator made a comment when I went in last week that she was so happy I’m coming back after having my baby🙄

I don’t want to leave on bad terms or burn bridges..I’ve been with them a big chunk of my life and they could be an amazing reference later on down the line.

I thought about mailing a resignation letter or going in person to speak to the admin..but I’m nervous!!

I also need to transfer my retirement fund and profit sharing to my bank..so I have no choice but to tell them..

I feel mailing a resignation letter is easy but a little impersonal..it’s a small family owned company.
