Hi, so the guy I’m talking to romantically me and him met on October 13th 2017. My second semester of college I’m 17 he’s 21. We instantly hit it off he approached me (cause I usually don’t talk to anyone). So from there we talked whenever we saw each other in the lounge (meaning he approached me) and from there we actually became friends officially on October 13th. However, in the beginning I knew he was apprehensive when it came to his feelings for me cause my age. Even though he was surprised when he found out cause I talk proper and basically act like a old person. Yet, he told me how he found himself developing a crush on me despite himself. So we talked about being with each other and he said we could once I turn 18 because he didn’t want to deal with judgement from his parents (even though it’s legal). Though with time I found out some other issues he’s had like the fact he stills has feelings for his ex girlfriend. Who abandoned him one day texted him saying how he was perfect but she couldn’t deal with it anymore. Which was before he met me and she’s been avoiding him since then. He also gets uncomfortable talking about her and becomes defensive never really answering questions. He won’t even tell me her name he said he knows she’s not coming back. However, he still acts distant at times and it’s sad cause I’ve always been open. He’s a sweetheart honestly always there for me listens and tries to understand me the best way he can. However it’s the secrecy how can he say he likes me one day and then say he’s not sure how deep his feelings really are. He writes on Facebook telling some girl happy Valentine’s Day however won’t even say it to me when I went on campus just to be there. Since I knew it was his first Valentine’s Day without her they dated 8 years on and off. He acts like he’s the only one hurting or that I can’t understand heartbreak when I dated someone too and he was there during the break up (it happened in October) and me and my ex dated since I was 13 until I was 17. When we around at school he’s the sweetest and always looks out for me and encouraging me . It’s just why is he so distant at times I’m here for him through every issue we talk every day I tell him how he’s beautiful and how I won’t abandon him like she did and honestly I hate her cause she hurt him and I have to pay for it. Cause I know he wants the same thing he just says how he’s scared of getting hurt or that he’s not good enough for me. So any advice please.
