When did you start setting baby stuff up?

baby will be sleeping in our room till he's 6 months, when should we start setting up the bassinet? I thought of waiting till I came home with the baby

We had her crib set up around 36 weeks and had a rock and play for the early days. We ended up moving at about 3 weeks after she was born. She stayed in the rock and play in her room for another 3-6 weeks and then we transitioned to the crib.

I would have it set up at least a few weeks before your due date. You don't want to wait until baby is here to do stuff. You are going to be sore, exhausted, and hormonal among other things. You are going to want to come home and have everything done, and no have to set things up, or put things away. Trust me.

My son was born a month ago, but because he was prem has been in NICU. He is coming home tomorrow and I set his bassinet up yesterday, and only bought the final things he needs today. 😂

We set up the crib when I was a month away from my due date but we never used the crib, he’s a year old now. He slept in a bassinet as a newborn, and then a pack n play by 2-3 months. Now he sleeps with us since 9 months.
