all three of my pregnancies i ate deli meat and was fine. ate pretty much what i wanted minus raw fish.. stayed clear from there. but they all were completely healthy

My doctor told me as long ate it’s heated up and is NOT from a deli I should be fine.

The issue with deli meats and soft cheeses is that they can contain a bacteria called Listeria that when pregnant, can be transferred to your baby, and cause neonatal meningitis or sepsis so that is why they are supposed to be avoided. When you are healthy, your body’s immune system can fight off listeria but for the elderly and babies it can be very dangerous!

I have eaten it a couple times, but I cook the meat first. I’ve made a hot ham and cheese sandwich and a hot turkey and cheese sandwich. My doc said it’s okay in moderation and as long as it’s heated to a certain temp prior to eating.

I avoided it during my first pregnancy because I read you shouldn't eat it. Then I asked my ob about it, and she told me it's fine as long as it's no more than 3 days old. That was a godsend, because I was craving hot ham and cheese and hoagies all the time! lol

I fucked up and ate some packaged weenies and bread . I didn’t know until two weeks ago it was not recommended. So I have stopped for now. I honestly did not know . But I do now so moving forward I won’t eat anything of that sort

I haven’t ate it, but let me tell you, I CRAVE IT SO BAD. My go to is turkey on wheat with mayonnaise, mustard, cheese & potato chips! I can’t wait until I’m able to indulge again.
