Level 4 Ultrasound? Updated

*Update*
 So we went for the ultrasound yesterday and everything came back great! The only concern is that I have medial cord insertion. Meaning the umbilical cord has implanted on the edge of my placenta, rather than in the middle. He stated that often times this can lead to small birth weight because baby is not able to receive all nutrients from all areas of the placenta. Also, there is a potential problem if the umbilical cord detaching during labor. So there is the potential for a cesarian delivery. But it’s a watch and see situation.  Hi ladies. I am 27 weeks pregnant and haven’t really been feeling baby the way the doctor, and everyone else, says I should. Because of this he is sending me for a level 4 ultrasound with a high risk doctor. Our genetic screening came back just fine and there doesn’t seem to be anything obviously wrong on my doctor’s scans. I think he’s just doing this as a precautionary thing. Anyway, have any of you had this scan done? Or have any of you had the movement issues? Any words of advice for this scared FTM. This is my rainbow baby and hubby and I are so worried something is wrong with our sweet girl. Thanks

We went yesterday due to decreased movement in the last two weeks.  We were there at 10am and I hadn’t felt her move once.  My first was very active from 18 weeks on.  Everyone told me that I would feel this little girl sooner with my second than I did with my first.  I didn’t feel her until after 20 weeks.  So yesterday I noticed I hadn’t felt her move at all by 10am and I had eaten and drank.  So we did and NST and ultrasound.  They found that the placement of the placenta in my uterus had a lot to do with me not feeling movements.  So we are very lucky that nothing is wrong but it is kind of worrying that if I don’t feel her move I might think it is normal when it isn’t.

I saw maternal fetal medicine last week for a scan because they were worried I had placenta accreta. I was there for a total of two hours. The sonographer scanned me first, then I gave permission for a student to scan for a while, and then the doctor came in to review the images and did more scanning himself. Turns out the placenta is probably fine, but now the specialist has referred me to a specialist because he thinks there’s something going on with the heart.
Luckily that appointment is a week from Friday, so only 2.5 weeks of worry. The placenta issue they told me about just before Christmas and I had my appointment to check on that on Valentine’s Day, so that was almost 2 months of stress & worry.

We don't have any issues with movement but we were referred to a internal fetal specialist for this scan after our OB was unable to find our baby's stomach during our anatomy scan. I can totally relate how scary this is!!  Our OB said he was 90% sure that nothing was wrong and it was just a precaution. Unfortunately, the internal fetal specialist confirmed the issue and is suspecting a birth defect. Our baby's esophagus is not connected to her stomach, which caused her stomach to not develop. This requires a surgical repair for her to survive. As scary as it was, I'm glad he referred us and we're now seeing both doctors regularly. I'm glad we know now instead of being surprised at birth.

I was born with a heart defect so they checked my daughter for one. It required a. Level 4 cardiac specialist 200 miles away. No heart defects found.
