Do you ask people to was their hands before holding your baby?

I've been doing this and I get lots of eye rolls. Is this rude of me? I ask only because of the awful flu season. Even my family.

Yep. If they don’t like it they don’t touch the baby 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
I’d rather have somebody irritated cause I asked them to wash their hands than a sick baby

Many healthy children have died of the flu this season, if my baby gets it he's a goner. Not only do we ask people to wash their hands, we also don't allow them to kiss the baby (my mother in law was upset by this, but my husband told her she can follow our rules or leave). I don't need anyone's mouth on my child. We are restricting visitors until flu season is over as well. Only family and everyone must be illness free with clean hands! Seems like no big deal when it's not their babies health on the line..
