How long do I wait to change my belly piercing? I've had it for five weeks and it's not hurting and looks healed?

I can already tell it's not completely healed because of the crust on the bottom bar. You need to give it more time before you change it or any of that. Some take up to a year. I think mine took around 5 months or so to completely heal and I've never had problems with it.

Hello! I’m an apprentice body piercer. Belly button piercings heal from the outside in. Even though it looks healed on the outside the inside probley isn’t healed. You don’t want to change it too early as you could rip the skin inside the Piercing causing an infection. You also were most likely pierced with a belly bar bigger than you will need to accommodate for swelling. You should visit your piercing shop when the bar ‘drops’ and starts to look too long. If you don’t change it, it can start to become irritated from moving so much!
