How many of you saw/ picked out/ knew about you engagement ring before you were engaged?

My man & I have gone to look at rings together. I picked out 2 that I loved!! It’s been almost a year since we have done that and he hasn’t proposed yet. He is a very cautious man ❤️ I am okay with that. I’m just curious how many of you know what to expect when he proposed💍 how many of you had zero clue what he would ask you to marry him with  💎  😍

My fiancé and I looked at rings together. Instead of picking one favorite, there were several rings that I liked different aspects of. He put together all the various things I liked and had my ring custom made. We looked at rings in January and he proposed in March, so I had a feeling it was coming!

Me and him went to the jeweler to pick it out together and he proposed later that night! It was so perfect 😍😁

My fiancé designed mine with CAD and no one else has it. If the jeweler sells it, royalties! 😆 the guards/wedding bands I get match the gears and are so beautiful.

my fiancé kept me on ice! We went and picked my ring out in August and he proposes to me in November. I wouldnt change how he did things. But knowing he had the ring and not knowing when I would be engaged to him drove me nuts Lol!

my boyfriend & I went in February to look at rings together & ended up finding one, so we put it on lay-away & are paying it off whenever we can, it's almost paid off so once that's done he will hopefully, offically pop the question!! we are kind of doing things backwards as we already live together & have a joint bank account lol but I'm not huge on surprises so he let me pick out the ring! I was engaged about 3 years ago to the wrong guy & didn't have a say in anuthing... he didn't even tell my family when he was proposing to me, like what the heck?? but yeah, needless to say I am very glad I'm with my boyfriend now & I got to pick out my ring!

He got a white sapphire put in it, cuz a diamond that big was out of our budget right now.
He said he’ll get me one in a few years, but the sapphire is amazing for now. I love how it looks!

I answered wrong, but my fiancé picked mine out! He messaged my BFF to see what she thought I would like, and he took that advice and picked one out. I love it!! Simple but beautiful and shiny, it’s a bit different because there isn’t one big stone. I love that it’s different and think he did great! Congrats to all the other engaged ladies 💍💍💍

We had gone to a few stores to browse and he had been looking on his own as well for a while. He had something totally different in mind. I may have liked it, but once I saw this ring-I was in love!!

We walked out of the store and he was just like-ok...something like that instead...
And I was like “no...that one!” 😝
5 Days later he had bought it and proposed!

So the proposal & all that hasn't happened quite yet, but it will around the time that my ring comes in(hopefully very soon!!) but me and my soon to be fiancé have been discussing marriage for awhile now & he knows how important it is to me, so on my birthday (ahhh!)  he brought me into Kay's Jewelers & we looked around at rings. He was the one who first noticed it & then he pointed it out to me & I honestly love every piece to it.. I was looking for a 3 stone piece with a cute setup underneath it with extra design/gems on the sides.. It was on clearance so it was originally like 220 and we got it for like 114 with a forever warranty & all that stuff included. Not sure of the carat size or any of that but I found out that the ring itself is metal plated around the diamonds, it's really creative. I love it. & it's funny because the associate that was helping me knew me & shes like I'm the same size as you(5.75) so I know the issue! (& she let me try on a ring of hers for sizing reference 😂)  
We also plan on getting married on our 3 year anniversary (8.3.18)
