Clomid ????

Question

Ladies who have taken clomid... please give me some insight.
My doctor just prescribed me one round of clomid, he didn’t really want to prescribe it because he wants me to do an HSG first that cost $950.00. 
I don’t have the 950.00 for an HSG year right now and have been ttc for 2 years.
Any ladies here have you taken clomid? 
Did it work for you and if it did how many cycles did it take?
Did any ladies take clomid WITHOUT doing the HSG test first ? ( where they check your tubes) 
Any complications? 
Ladies any answers would be great as I have only 3 days till I start 🙏🙌

I’m on a clomid stair step (first cycle on clomid, 2 5-day doses though). I didn’t have an HSG done first. I switched doctors so he ran all of my initial work ups, confirming the PCOS diagnosis. He also ran tests on my SO. He said based on all of my results and my SOs results that he didn’t think I needed one but that we’d reevaluate further down the line should I not fall pregnant. That was the day I started my first dose this cycle. 
Fast forward to now, my follicles don’t grow large enough to produce the egg. I’m being monitored this cycle. Prompting the stair step. I started my second dose this cycle Monday night with a metformin combo. I go back for a follow up next week to see if they are finally growing! 
An HSG isn’t the worst thing you could have done. However, if you and your doctor feel comfortable enough proceeding without one, then go on with ya bad self girl.

I took a round of chlomid for testing purposes but with the hopes of getting pregnant. Not sure what HsG is but I did do an HCG test and they checked that my tubes were open before hand. I only did the one round and didn’t get pregnant. I remember being a little more edgy and emotional on it but who knows if that was a result of the chlomid or just the situation itself. I’m not sure any of this helps. Good luck! Baby dust to you!!!! PS I got the prescription from Costco and it was like 90% cheaper!!

HSG is to confirm if there is a blockage in your Fallopian tubes. The blockage would prevent you from getting pregnant. They do all the test to rule out diagnoses, so they know how to treat your infertility.

I am pretty sure I had an hsg before taking them as it clears your tubes which could prevent you getting pregant. I had 6 rounds and didn't get pregnant. But it did make me ovulate earlier.
