Just curious why dr’s send women for NST’s? I’m on Baby #5 and have never had one or been offered to get one.

I had one because I couldn’t get kicks, I tried everything before calling the ob but baby was barely moving so they did one

Same as Summer, I go twice a week. Monday's are NST, OB check, and amniotic fluid check. Thursdays are just an NST. Mine are because of my blood pressure though. If it keeps getting higher like it has been, they'll induce me closer to 37 weeks. If it stays borderline, they'll induce me closer to 39 weeks.

I get them done twice a week bc I’m high risk due to her measuring small. It’s to make sure her heart is responding correctly to movement (I.e. accelerating when she’s active) they also check my fluid levels after every NST

It’s often done for certain medical reasons, or if you inform your OB that baby hasn’t been moving much etc. They hook you up to try to pick up movement and see if you can feel the movements. My sister in law had one done because she lost weight during her third trimester. It’s not done regularly.

Its different for everyone i was sent to one for my daughter because i was high risk and she was asleep at her regular scans they just wanted to make sure she was active enough i was high risk with her because her bubby was preemie
