Am I having contractions?!?

Hi everyone, it's 2AM and I have been waking up about every hour and a half and getting a strong cramping feeling very low in my stomach..I haven't timed them but I will if I get another one, but I would say it only lasts about 10-15 seconds or so. I was just at the doctor on Monday and was not dilated at all, said cervix was still closed tight. This is my first pregnancy so despite everything I've read I'm still not sure if this is contractions or Braxton Hicks or what?!!? I keep thinking they are way too far apart to be contractions if I'm only having 1 every couple hours for a few seconds. Any thoughts are appreciated!!! Thanks !!

Thanks everyone for your comments! I continued to have them and began timing them and they were around 20-23 minutes apart so I called my doctor's office when they opened just to see what they would say and they told me to go to L&D.;  They checked me and my cervix is still closed, not dilated at all but I am 60-70% effaced. Baby is posterior. it is now 24 hours later and I am still having these contractions ugh! They have not stopped at all but are still irregular. They told me at L&D; to wait until they are 5 mins apart or if my water breaks to come back. They said it could still be days. They are starting to get a little more intense even though some are an hour apart, some are 15 minutes apart . I guess this is considered early labor and could last a while. All I know is these contractions suck and if I have them for days I don't know what I'll do lol ugh!!!! Just have to hope my cervix dilates and baby girl decides to come ASAP!!

I had a cramp earlier and it was making me cry. But I’m dilated and I also spent 30+ minutes walking around Walmart. I’d say if they get consistent, call L&D; and see what they want you to do

I would say it is a Braxton Hicks. But if you woulf like peace of mind call Labor & Delivery.

That’s how it happened with me with my first baby !!! I woke up sporadically through the night feeling the cramps. I kept in mind how far apart and how long they lasted . They ended up fading away and the next night/day I was in full blown labor. If you’re worried hun you can always call L&D; ❤️ good luck to you 🤞🏻😇

Mine started as low cramps but I slept through them for a few hours. I assumed they were Braxton Hicks, but they did come every 5-6 mins or so I think.
My contractions were only low, as well; never the wrap-around-the-whole-belly ones, so I didn’t think they were real but just a few hours later baby was crying on my chest! 
Hope your labor goes smoothly if this is the beginning!
