Does anybody else get annoyed by non-moms who try to give Mom advice?

If I’m not asking for advice, I get annoyed if it is given whether that person is a mom or not. Other moms can be the worst for giving pushy, unsolicited advice.

Like when I had my 3rd baby under age 4, all were exclusively breastfed, and I work... I was feeding my daughter a jar of puree and my childless SIL said "why don't you just steam some fresh vegetables and make your own baby food? It's SO MUCH HEALTHIER for your baby!"
Like bitch I'm lucky if I get to eat and shower and poop that day with the way my life is.
When I explained this to her she said "well I'm busy too but. ..."
I wanted to punch her in the face lol

It depends on the advice. Growing a baby in your uterus doesn't automatically make you a parenting expert. There are a lot of shitty parents out there. There's also a big difference between advice and judgement.

When people who don’t have kids try to give me advice or make comments about how their kids will never do this or that I usually just laugh it off.

people who try to give advice are doing a nice thing. Advice is suppose to help you. Whether the advice is from a mother or not, that person is trying to help. take it or leave it but dont get upset with someone for trying to HELP you. 🙄

It doesn’t upset me, but I chose to take it or leave it. If it’s from someone who’s got a good head on their shoulder, I may listen. If it’s a ditz...yeah, I’ll probably just tune you out. For example, before I had my son, I had people ask me for advice about their kid. But I’d been a teacher for 15 years. So there was some stuff I could help with. But nothing beats first hand experience. Now that I have my son, I see there are some things that you do, that maybe before having kids you’d say “never”! It all goes out the window!

It's always the ladies who haven't had kids yet that think they are the parenting experts lol I just laugh. There's a girl on this mom group I'm in who is first time pregnant and comments with her parenting advice all the time to women that have 2+ kids. Saying her child will never eat anything unhealthy, never be exposed to this thing or that. She'll never be this way or treat her kids that way. I'm just like 🙄🙄🙄 You gon learn soon lady!

I think it depends on how the advice is presented. Sometimes people say “this worked for me so maybe give it a try?” And some force their opinions like it’s the only option.
I’m happy to have advice if people do not try and push it down my throat like “YOU NEED TO DO IT THIS WAY”. I’m going to raise the kid the way I want to but I don’t know anything about having a kid so tips are welcome. But again, if presented in a certain way

Yes. My aunt gives me advice all the time - but I never ask for it and it’s always “advice” from 55 years ago. I don’t want to argue about my decisions, I’m deciding what’s best for my family at the time - if it’s wrong, then those are my mistakes to make. She’s so pushy.
Lately, she’s convinced I should sleep in the nursery, away from my husband, for a month and then just rely on a baby monitor - I’m planning on breastfeeding and our nursery is on an entirely different level of our house...
