Pets and Newborns. Is it safe? Is it healthy?

I've got 2 cats and 2 dogs and my 6 month old daughter. She's never been bitten or scratched. Obviously we didn't leave them alone together until we knew how they would get along, and they were never allowed in her room with her while she slept. Otherwise, if your animals are not known to be aggressive it's fine. They haven't gotten her sick either, though we didn't allow face licking when she was very small either.

Safe to an extent. Depends on the animal and the temperament of the animal. I have a dachshund and he gets along well with my 9 month old.

Yes and yes. Just educate yourself on how to train your pets and dont let your kids tug on them all the time.

I think it’s safe as long as you don’t leave them alone with any animals, I have 2 cats but I’m always watching whenever they’re in the same room as my daughter. But they honestly stay away from her by choice.

It’s safe as in health wise. 
But I wouldn’t go leaving any pet around a child, whether they’re friendly or not. 
It would be safer in this respect to not have them. 
👆🏻👆🏻 that said, you’d hope a baby wouldn’t be left in a situation alone with a pet anyway.

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. My son is 4 and has always had pets around him and my baby is 6 months old and very happy with all the animals. My son learned to feed the dogs and cats almost immediately after learning to walk, he can brush them and play well with them. I think it has instilled a sense of compassion and responsibility that a lot of kids his age struggle with. As for safety, be responsible  and keep an eye on everyone . Babies will grab tails and fur so train your pets to be prepaired  for it and teach your child from an early age how to be gentle

I've introduced my lab to my newborn,  never left them alone,  not because I'm afraid she'd hurt him purposely but because I know she'd wanna lick on him and lay in the bed with him and she's a heavy girl. She's also very high strung,  so I limit contact..

I gave away my two yorkies before I had my son.  The male dog was so possessive of me.  I just didn’t wanna have to kick a dogs ass about my baby.  Gave one to each of my sisters.  I still see them from time to time.
