Do you want people to stop moving to "your" state?

Wa

The This question stems off of the "which stereotypes are true" topic (which btw I'm not pertaining this to any particular comment- I was part of a conversation about this on the topic, but this is from seeing this mentioned by many commenters about many states).

So basically some of my questions are:

What state are you from, that you want outsiders to stop moving to?

Why do you dislike outsiders moving in?

Do you think/agree that it's okay to "hate on" outsiders without seeing them do those things you dislike firsthand? (Is the prejudice okay?)

If you have those feelings are you always going to stay in your home state, if not do you expect/accept the same sort of destine from others? (Or have you already experienced this, and if so did it change your mind on how you felt?)

What do you love about your home state that makes you proud of where you're from?

For reference I live in California (Southern), I don't mind people moving here and don't care, because California to me has always been a melting pot of people from other states. I do however dislike when people move from the city/another area to where I currently live, which is right outside of the national JT national park, and do things that destroy our wildlife. Particularly when they don't even realize how much wildlife we have here in the desert, which is what makes me proud of living here- our sometimes misunderstood nature, that is so beautiful (that and our super starry nights). I am moving to Oregon this summer, but I fully intend to try to assimilate myself into the areas way of living, and of course I will respect the nature, because I know and respect nature already. I'm moving because I was raised near lakes/rivers, mountains, etc, and miss that sort of surroundings and want that lifestyle for my child (also have family in Oregon). I do expect backlash being a Californian moving to Oregon, but I'm okay with that, because I can't live somewhere I'm not %100 satisfied with, for the rest of my life. I love it here, but it's not my dream to stay here. Anyway, I'm rambling a bit, so how do you feel about where you live?
