BIRTH STORY
It’s been 3 weeks and 2 days since my daughter was born and I’m finally ready (and have time) to write my birth story. I’ll try to keep it short.
We had a scheduled induction on February 7th at 5:00 p.m. and just like I knew they would, they called to tell us there was no room. We waited all evening and they called us back at 10:00 p.m. to come in!
We got there and they started me on Cervidil around 11:30. I dilated pretty slowly. I was already 2-3 centimeters when we got there. By 9:00 a.m. the next morning. I was only at a 5. My OB came in an broke my water around 1:00 p.m. and I quickly decided that it was time for an epidural. 😂 It helped me relax enough to dilate all the way to an 8. Unfortunately, I got stuck there. My OB came in at 6:38, checked my cervix and found out that I actually was a 10, there was just a section of cervix that was stuck around baby’s head. He pulled my cervix down and told me to PUSH! So I did. Approximately 38 minutes later, my sweet Annalyse Blythe Jackson was born at 7:08 p.m. on February 8th, weighing in at 8lbs. 2.9 oz. and 19 and a half inches long. Her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice but other than that, she was perfect. We narrowly escaped a C-section! My husband was such an incredible supporter and motivator. He slept upright, in an uncomfortable hospital chair, right next to me, all night long. He held one of my legs as I pushed and when she was finally here, we ugly cried together. 🙄 I did suffer with Postpartum Anxiety for the first two weeks but after that passed, I felt so much better. My sweet chunk will be a month old on Thursday and I am absolutely in love with her. God has blessed us beyond measure.
