Sudafed?

I've ran into a pretty nasty sinus infection and bronchitis this past week. I've been taking Sudafed along with my antibiotics and regular medications and my OB says it's fine. I'm 33 weeks today, what do y'all think?

My OB recommended guaifenesin or Sudafed for cold symptoms. As long as your OB approves it, I think you’re ok :)

I can empathize with how tough it is to balance the need for medicine in order for you to get better with the desire not to take any medicine that might impact the baby.  I'm also in my 3rd trimester and am on antibiotics and taking Tylenol and Benadryl for a sinus infection and bronchitis.  At the end of the day, following the advice of you doctor and taking care of yourself is all you can do to ensure a good outcome for you and baby.

I wanted to take Sudafed early in my 3rd tri and my OB said it can cause heart palpitations fairly frequently with pregnant women. But I also had borderline high blood pressure in my first and second trimesters. So, if your OB says it's ok for you, then I'd say take it but be sure you never go above the recommended dosage and all that.

If the suds fed has phenylalanine in it I would stop taking it but I had to do antibiotics for my sinus infection a few weeks ago it was brutal. I took Benadryl.

I just went today and double checked. He told me that it was okay during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Just to be sure I was taking it as directed on the box.
