If we have any sexual contact, will I get it?

The thing with simplex is 80% of those who have it don't even know they have it. It's unfortunate to contract simplex type 2 (genital) and can be an up and down journey for anyone who contracts it. You can use as much protection as you'd like but the chances of contracting it are still there, sometimes outbreaks go undetected. My answer is yes, yes I would stay with them and have. Both my husband and I have simplex and found out a year into our relationship, neither one of us knew who may have been the carrier as there had been no prior outbreaks. It can lay doormant for a long time. It all truly depends on the relationship and the dynamics.

he can take the antiviral and stay abstinent during outbreaks and it is safer.
