Engaged one month...I’m hoping for sooner than later

Hey everyone,

I just got engaged last month, right before Valentine’s Day. I have been trying to pull for Fall Break this year (I’m a teacher), while my fiancé thinks next June is best; I’ll be done with school (I’m also in school for my full certification) and teaching. The other downside is his job gives priority to the guys above him, who are dad’s and request fall break off.

Here’s the kicker though. My grandpa had a major stroke and mini strokes last November and is not doing well. I REALLY want him and my grandma there and I know telling them next June would kill them and he would give up on life.

I just want to ask my fiancé one more time to beg and plead for the time off because he doesn’t want to do a delayed honeymoon. I know it should be easy to talk to him, but I have pressure coming from my side about how my grandpa’s not doing well, but I don’t wAnt to push him to where he says forget it. I know he wants June so that everything can be perfect, but I’m just so lost. My mom says it’s fine (it’s her dad that’s sick), but I know it’s killing her.

Anyone have a suggestion for me? I e never helped plan a wedding so I have no clue how all this goes.
