Cervix thinning at 22 weeks

I'm 23 weeks today but last Thursday at 22 weeks the dr told me my cervix is thinning & it was at a 2.2cm... is this normal? Has it happened to anyone? Any advice?

I'm scared as now I'm going to get checked every Thursday & if it doesn't get better with progesterone suppositories they will start giving me steroids( if a test that they have to do comes back positive for pre term labor)

Any advice will be helpful 🙏🏽
