Reasons for piercing your babies ears?

I mean from my perspective just because of my own experience, to avoid the whole meltdown situation when they decide they want their ears pierced hen they’re older and then they freak out when we actually get to the piercing part. That’s what I did to my parents, several times.. I wanted my ears pierced but I would get there and flip out and not let the ladies touch my ears and then we’d go home. I think I might have done it to them like 5 or 6 times before the lady finally was just like hey I’m gonna check my dot and make sure it’s even BOOP ear pierced gotta do the other one now too!

When I was 4 I asked for them. My mother took me. I ended up taking them out before I was so mad about how much they hurt. I also didn't talk to my mom for a week. That had to take me again later to get them redone the next year. Because of that experience I took my daughter at 2mths. I didn't want her to remember the pain or mess with her ears. And she didn't mess with them and still doesn't now she's 1. She's never even grabbed at them. The pain of it is no worse than getting a shot but still. As a kid I hated needles and it was just a very bad memory for me. I just didn't want my kid being upset over it.

Had my twin girls been identical/hard to tell apart, I would have done it with different colored earrings to tell them apart.  They looked really different so I didn't end up doing it

I had my daughters ears pierced when she was 9 months old because I was tired of people calling her a boy... and just because I thought it was really cute!

Because I wanted them done!  I didn’t need any reason to pierce my daughters ears at 8 months other than I’m her mother and it’s wgen I decided to do them. I know everyone has different views on this but it was the choice her father and I made and we don’t regret it at all and would do the exact same if we ever had another girl.
