Tips or higher starting wage?

Right now most waitresses in Saint Paul, MN make $9.00 plus tips. They are currently looking to raise this to a minimum of $15.00. Restaurants say that they would rather have a tip credit added meaning tips will be added to the bill, because paying their employees that much will put them out of business.

My question is most people say they tip because waitresses do not make minimum wage if the starting pay increases do you think tipping should still be standard?

Also if your a waitress would you rather have tips or wage increased?
