Maternity Picts or newborn pictures?

So I know I would love both but money is tight... so I ask those of you who had maternity pictures done- was it worth it? And those who didn’t- do you regret not doing so? And if you had to pick between the two would you do maternity pictures or have newborn pictures done?

Most people have a good enough camera on their phones or have a friend that has a nice camera. Get dressed up and have someone take your maternity pictures for you. Getting newborn pictures I believe takes a lot more skill so I would definitely want the professional to do those. I took maternity pictures at a studio with a photographer and had my mom take some of me at home and I actually like the ones my mom took much better!

If money is tight can you just have someone take some really nice pics of you and then when baby comes you can decide on doing them for baby. There are some really creative simple ways to take ur own pics of ur belly and ur baby. My friend used similar props for her newborn and they looked like a professional did them... so I can save and do them urself! But if u really don’t feel like it: maybe u can have someone take some really nice pics of you and have someone take the baby photos professionally.
