My IUD insertion

Taylar

There’s not a lot of good/not painful experience stories out there, so I thought I’d share mine to give hope. I’m an anxious anxious person with a very low tolerance level for pain, and after reading countless painful stories, and talking to my soon to be sister in law who got one a while ago, I was terrified! My appointment was literally an hour and a half ago, and I feel great! The pain was probably only a 2/3 at most. Extremely tolerable. (No I’ve never had a child) I did however feel some intense pressure like that when you need to poop, and was scared I might actually do it 😂 I had a nurses hand to hold the whole time which probably helped, and after they warned me about intense cramps/and or vomiting and checked me out with a heating pad and painkillers (which I haven’t needed). I didn’t need to lay down for any after for amount of time, I was still pretty shook because of nerves though. I hyped myself up about this for weeks. Mabye it’s too early to say anything for sure, but I don’t have cramps or feel sick at all.

UPDATE: So that night I did start to feel a little crampy and ended up falling asleep with a heating pad, but I haven’t had cramps since. The couple days after the insertion I was pretty bloated, and the bleeding is kind of weird. At first it was really brown and hardly there at all, and it looked the texture of mucus, but today it’s been heavy enough to wear a tampon and bright red. It’s also thin blood, not like period blood. I can’t really feel the strings unless I dig around, I haven’t had sex since the insertion so I can’t tell you if my partner can feel them yet. I’m still having a good experience, and I’ll update again in a couple weeks. I’m am worried about the hormones effecting my anxiety and depression negatively, so that’s what I’ll be focusing on.
