When someone asks where you’re from

Question

When someone asks you where you’re from (assuming you’ve moved a bit in your life), what do you tell them? 
A: the most recent place you just moved from (even if you were not there long)
B: where you were born/spent your childhood (even if it’s been years since you’ve lived there)
C: the place you’ve spent the most time living at (even if it’s not A or B)
D: something else? Please comment

I say I’m originally from Manitoba but raised here in Calgary.

I was born in NY, moved to VA when I was 9 where I lived until I was 24. Then moved to NYC, then OH, then Scotland. When someone asks where I’m from, I always say VA. I lived there most of my life. I say “I moved here from ___ but I’m from VA.”

I moved from Oklahoma to California when I was 3. Moved back to Oklahoma when I was 10. I am now 28. I tell people I started life in California (because thats where my first memories were made) but ive spent almost my entire life in Oklahoma so thats where I'm from.

I lived in about 7 different places by the time I was 11. I count the place I am from where I lived from age 11-22, because those were my "meaningful years". Also, most of my family lives there still.
