Braxton Hicks?

First time mom here. Can anyone tell me what Braxton hicks feels like? And and the difference in Braxton hicks and a real contraction. I just had the worst pain in my lower stomach/pelvic area!

When I get braxton Hicks my whole stomach gets hard but there’s no pain. With  real contractions it’s the same thing but with pain and consistency.

you'll definitely know the difference when a real one hits. but Braxton Hicks your whole baby bump gets hard, and it doesn't last very long. they can be rhythmic, or random, but it's not painful. real contractions your bump will tense up, but it will feel like a wave that flows over your tummy, and possibly through your back as well. and it hurts. at first it may not be super painful,. it you will notice the difference straight away.
