Do you sleep in bed with husband right after baby?

My husband works for UPS and is being promoted to driver on April 3rd. I’m due March 28th and he is taking 1 week vacation the week of the 26th. I will sleep in our bed and have baby in the room with us during his time off. However, when he starts driving he’ll be working 12 hour shifts and he needs plenty of rest. Not just general but for the safety of himself and everyone on the road too. I’m thinking about sleeping in guest room so he won’t be woken up as much during the night by me constantly waking up to breastfeed. Has anyone else done this?

I think that when our baby arrives and my hubby goes back to work, he will sleep in the spare room when he works. He also works 12 hour shifts as a nurse so he’s already exhausted when he gets home and then gets up at 5:30am the next day.
As much as I would love help, I know that he needs to do his job and he can actually kill someone if he’s not on the right state of mind. But he also doesn’t work 5 days a week. His schedule is all over the place so he will be working 1 day here, 3 days off, 2 days on, etc.

I do from day 1, but my husband is such a dead sleeper he doesn't hear the baby cry and sleeps like a log all night. Which means as long as baby isn't screaming he's fine. Now if baby starts to get super fussy and won't calm down, I will move to the living room to let him get some rest, but as soon as baby is back asleep, it's back in the room I go. We also have two others, so having baby in another room isn't really an option, don't want the whole house up all night!!

Baby and me will stay in our actual bedroom (my bed is a sleep number and half the reason we bought it was to help once I'm ego prego with sitting up) and my hubby will make the choice on if he wants to sleep in our bed or the guest room. He is super over protective and probably won't be able to sleep when his wife and new born are in another room "unprotected", so I'm letting him make that decision while also making sure I am still as comfortable as possible so I can get as much sleep as possible.

My husband had a 2 hour drive to work every morning, a 10 hour shift spending his day working in a mine around heavy machinery, and 2 hour drive home. It was rough, but our daughter is 2 and STILL doesn’t sleep through the night. We never found it to be an issue for all of us to be in the same room. We began going to bed very early, like 7 or 7:30 (he had to be up at 3 every morning) and it allowed us to get enough sleep. It was nice for me because even if I was up several hours into the night, I still felt mostly rested everyday. I cant imagine having been away from my husband, to us going to bed together is a big deal. It also was helpful to have him right there on the rare occasion I really did need his help. I tried hard not to wake him, but sometimes I really needed help, and I would not have had the option to ask if he were in another room. 
We breast fed, and I would always wake up to my daughter’s first waking grunts, so I was generally able to get to her before she began actually crying. We would nurse and she would go back to sleep. It rarely woke him, and he understood that babies cry and was not bothered by it when it did wake him up. 
We are now expecting baby #2, and our situation has changed quite drastically. He is on a much more normal schedule and has a lot of flexibility. I will definitely be expecting his help more this time around!

Nope. We had a crappy bed that we couldn't share while I was still injured from birth and he works 14 hours, manual labor, around dangerous equipment. He's going to try to take off with our second so I have some help. We didn't have that choice last time.

I too have a husband who will be working hard and needing rest! I feel the same as you, he has his vacation the week of my due date and I have a bassinet in our room. I also have a guest bedroom by the nursery so I thought I would move baby and I upstairs to let dad rest! I think it’s a good idea. I guess we will see how it goes right? Is this your first baby? It’s my first I’m due May 1. Good luck!

I did and will be again. My husband commutes 1 hr to work each day and also has been promoted since last baby to an executive position so he needs his rest also.
We’re now also next to our 3 year old’s room and I would hate to risk waking her up each night multiple times and 😱 her not wanting to go back to sleep! Just for a while until baby is ready to sleep in her own room/sleeps longer stretches.

Me and my husband have always slept in the same room after babys born! You can say he gets used to the cries of the baby! I thinks its better what happens after? Are you and baby are still gonna sleep in a giest room until the baby gets a sleeping schedule without waking up at night?
