How to sterilise ?

Hi I'm new here and an FTM. How do u sterilise the bottles if u formula feed? And how often? Also with what, any special dish washing lotion?

My midwife/health visitor say you should sterilise for the first 6months while their immune system is weak and developing. 
I have a steam steriliser from tommy tippee fits 6bottles at a time. I was them in soapy water first then rinse out the bubbles then the steriliser takes 5minutes. You can also get a cold water steriliser which is basically a bucket or large container filled with cold water and a steriliser tablet. This takes 15minutes to sterilise but the solution is sterile for 24hours so you can add things to it. 
You can boil the bottles on the oven hob in a pan but overtime this damages the plastic of the bottles.

Almost 10 months in and I've never sterilized a single bottle. Just regular dish soap and hot water!

Just buy a microwave sterilizer. I would soak in hot/soapy water and scrub and rinse and then sterilize them in that for a few mins.

You don’t have to sterilize bottles anymore. Our hospital and peds office no longer recommend it unless you have a preemie. We just run ours through the dishwasher or wash with warm soap and water.
