Pumping am I doing this right?

I have a medela pulp, and the first five minutes of pumping I express 2 oz of milk, then nothing seems to be coming out. Is this normal? Does this mean “let down” has not occurred? Is anyone else this confused by breastfeeding/pumping!? #firsttimemom

Let down has occurred in order for those 2 oz to come. If you can, massage your breasts downward while pumping to help empty them. Also pump for a solid 5 minutes after milk stops to either stimulate a second let down or to just tell your body it needs to make more milk. Also remember babies empty your breast more than a pump can.

Second time mom but first time pumper. Kelly Mom is a great website for pumping info!! Ive been pumping once a day for about 15 minutes for 10 days and I only get 2oz. out. I felt like my giant DDD boobs were worthless until I got on the Kelly Mom website! Apparently it's normal. About to start pumping twice a day since I go back to work in 2 weeks

You can let down multiple times a session! Just click that button. Also try massaging your boobs before and during your pumping session, and make sure you fully empty out. I’m struggling myself.

I have a medela pump. I can feel my let down and I end up pumping around 8oz in one boob per session. I’m not totally sure in your case though. At first I only pumped 2-3oz per boob, but now that I’m about 6 weeks pp my supply has excessively increased
