Opinions on at home fetal doppler’s?

I’ve heard good and bad. I’m just curious of others opinions, how frequently you used it, how safe is it really, etc; really anything I need to know about using one.

I didn’t buy one for any of my pregnancies. I don’t feel confident that they are safe for frequent use and it didn’t seem worth it to me.

I bought one after I had a missed miscarriage and thought it would help ease my mind. It personally did the opposite. Even drs have a hard time finding it sometimes, especially before 12 weeks. It's very easy to find the placenta frequency and mistake it for heartbeat. If I couldn't find it, I'd worry. Then before long, I could feel baby moving. So I personally didn't use it for very long at all.

I have one bc my anxiety level is high. I try not to do it often but I’m having high anxiety all sudden so I like to check the peanut. I don’t diagnose anything— if something is off I see the doctor despite getting a heartbeat. I think that’s the biggest risk.

I used nine almost every night for a,few weeks. we found the heart beat before we heard it at the doctors which was cool. it was easy to find each time for me and as soon as I heard it I would I  would turn it off.

This was a first time pregnancy for me so I didn't know much. I bought a fetal heart monitor to ease my constant worrying and it really saved me a lot of panic lol I used it every couple days until I could begin to feel her move. I made some heart beat recordings on my phone that I'll keep forever ❤

I have one.  I didn't try it until I heard the baby at the dr at 10 weeks.  I used it 2-5x a week.  I like having the piece of mind it gives me.

I think it depends on the kind of person you are. I am afraid I would become obsessive and it would cause me major anxiety so i haven’t bought one. If you can handle not finding the heartbeat occasionally, and won’t check like 700000 Times a day, then I’d say go for it!

I think they are lovely but never ever rely on one. If you have reduced movements go to hospital and get checked. I've heard many stories about "but we heard the heartbeat" and actually it was their own heartbeat that they heard and their baby needed help. It's for fun, but it is only medical equipment when used by a trained professional.

I like mine. I was able to find it at 11w and I listen every couple weeks just because I think it’s fun to hear.
