Esthetician or cosmetology ?!

I’m having such a hard time deciding between the two. If anybody could have any insight that would help me make my decision I would appreciate it ! I do like that school for esthetician is cheaper and less time , I’m worried about job growth and what makes more money.

the job outlook for a cosmotolegy is better than an esthetician. my sil just got her esthetician's license and she couldn't find a job so she's working at ulta. chain salons are always hiring if you dont have a clientele to start. with that said, both careers offer different skill sets so it all depends on what you would enjoy doing in the long run. good luck.

cosmo is very focused on hair. when i did it we spent 1 week on makeup, 1-2 weeks on skin care/treatments including waxing, and 2 weeks on nails. everything else is hair. and once we were on the floor working on clients we did all the hair. my school gave 90% of all the facials and nail apts to the esties and nail techs. so you dont even practice it much. so if you want to do makeup and facials then cosmo wont go very indepth, but you still can ise use your license that way

I am a cosmetologist. But if you’re more into just skin stuff, do aesthetics. 
Good thing about cosmo, is that you can do basic skin and nails if you wanted to. Cosmo license covers all of that.

Do you like hair or skin more? I went to beauty school because I love doing hair, but if you like skincare more, you should go to esthetician school. Around here estheticians get paid more because we don’t have a school close by and they’re in high demand.
