Due date 7/6. Is 5/5 too early for baby shower?

So I’m due July 6. I’m not terribly involved in my shower but my mom wanted my input on the date. We have talked to some friends and family members and there is literally a reason why we can’t do anything between May 12-June 2. That leaves us with May 5 or June 9. I’m worried June 9th is just getting too close to my due date. But May 5 feels so early! Both me and my mom wish we had kept our mouths shut and just picked a date 😒

I specifically wanted my shower date to be 2 months before I’m due (shower is 6/3, due 8/1) so then I’ll have plenty of time to buy whatever I don’t receive and still need.

I’m due 5/1 and shower is 3/25 so it’s about 6 weeks before? I feel like it’s a good time to do it. I originally wanted it sooner but I feel good having it like this... now that it’s almost here. Online it says anywhere between 1-3 months before is Reccomended.

Always better to have it earlier than later. With my first, I had my second baby shower (because my ex's family had major drama issues) literally 3 days before I was unexpectedly induced at 38 weeks. It was hectic because I was so big and uncomfortable, left me with very little time to get everything set up, and didn't even send out my thank you cards until my son was 6 months old. Most likely I'll be going through the same thing this pregnancy too. Shower is set for 4/14 and I'm due 3 weeks later on May 5th, and that is IF I'm not induced. I'm having issues with extra fluid and the baby measuring big right now, so it is possible she will be here before her due date. I blame myself for being such a procrastinator though. 😑
