Yummy Fridge Oats- Great for new moms!

Wa

I eat this everyday now! I'm ebf so of course I've heard how great oatmeal is for my milk supply! I was cooking oats every morning, but with a baby that wasn't always easy (even when wearing her, because being close to the heat was a little daunting). So I started making fridge oats; at first I was skeptical, I had seen all these health gurus eating it on YouTube, but thought: "Cold oatmeal- yuk! No thanks"! But now I'm a convert! I love this stuff!!! So easy to make a few servings at a time when baby finally gets to sleep at night, and so easy to serve up and eat throughout the next few days (I even eat it for "desert" at night when I have a sweet tooth)!

(And, yes, this is my bowl in bed- because it's the comfiest place to feed the baby, and it's cold, so I don't have to worry about spilling on baby!)

TMI alert-- It's also been great for my bowels, which have been a problem due to having a c-section!

To make:

In a bowl mix:

2 cups oats

1 single serve Greek yogurt of choice

2 cups water

2 tbs chia seeds

Handful of whatever mixings/fruit you like, things I've tried include:

Half a banana

Banana chips

Raspberries halved

Almonds chopped

Strawberries diced

Diced peaches

Chocolate chips

(Favorite so far is strawberry yogurt, ten raspberries, half a banana, and a tbs of chocolate chips)!

I also like to top it with a sprinkle of powdered graham cracker (it comes in a box for making pie crust) from time to time as pictured for a bit of a faux crust taste!

(If you don't like Greek yogurt you can add same amount of milk of choice and 1/2 cup water, and whatever amount of sugar you like to make it sweeter)

Put in mason jar and leave in fridge overnight (or at least 4 hours) and enjoy! This recipe makes 2 or 3 servings for me depending on the amount of extras I add!
