Is my chart wrong?

I have been charting my cycle (always regular) which says I ovulate tomorrow so peak time to have sex is tonight. I went and got an ovulation test today and took it then. I know it says to wait till the morning but I did it anyway like an idiot. It says my chances are low. Is the test wrong because I didn’t wait till morning maybe? What are your experiences with the ovulation tests? I feel like I felt my typical ovulation cramping earlier but I could be wrong. I feel like I planned this whole romantic evening with my husband for nothing 😔 I mean not for nothing, but not for a baby haha
