Shaving my legs because I’m a girl?

So I’m a dancer, and I got to classes almost every single day. However today was much different, I was sitting down on a bench when a boy sitting next to me says “ you have really hairy legs, you should shave”. I replied, “ does that mean that because I’m a girl I’m supposed to shave to meet you level of feminism? , if so I plan on seeing you get a wax next week.” I don’t know if I was overreacting, should I shave if I’m not comfortable in doing it yet, I’m only 13.
