Painted counter tops????? Anyone done it?

Question

So DH and I are buying our first house and love it except the countertops they are laminate which not that big of a deal but just don't love the color... I'm already planning on updating the back splash and was just going to replace the countertops but then my mom sent me links for kits to paint your countertops.... reviews are mixed but I'm curious

Thanks ladies im excited to try I'm going to do this and update my backsplash to grey and white glass tiles I'm thinking we are going to stick to greys and whites just to open the space up its galley style so it needs the help

We painted our laminate counter top on our island about three years ago... just a plain color.. no special paint, but a lot of polycrylic and sanding. Absolutely love the results!

i did plain countertop paint (one solid color), not difficult.  the paint is really hard to clean off of anything it shouldn't be on so just plan to cover things and throw out all your supplies after one use.  it can be knicked up fairly easily, but other than that, it did the trick and i didn't hate my countertops anymore.

I did, cant post pictures at the moment... But painted them 3 years ago to look like granite with acrylic paints and glitter, then covered in 2 part resin apoxy. Except for the 2 spot my guys gouged and I need to fix, I love them!!!
