The first few days.

I am 4 days PP and struggling with breastfeeding. He was having issues in the hospital and they suggested I try feeding him every 2 hours to sort of top him up and make sure he’s getting enough. The problem is I am spending over an hour each time trying to get him to feed so by the time we are done it’s pretty much time to start again. He is quite sleepy so I have been changing him before every feeding to try to wake him up a bit which is only successful for a short period of time before he’s back to sleep. Some feedings he looks for the breast and I can get him latched on but others he has no interest in opening up. I was advised to supplement with formula to top him up but he has been vomitting it up afterwards and spitting up formula and mucus regularly after the feed. Sorry for the ramble, I’m just frustrated and concerned about making sure he has enough to eat. I want to succeed at breastfeeding and mothering in general. Any tips or advice is most appreciated
