Can I travel after c section??

Question

I’m 1 week post partum. Recovery is going smooth so far. But my husband got home from deployment and tomorrow we need to pick up our house keys for our house on base. It’s a 3 hour drive to and from so 6 hours in total. He can go on his own but I don’t want him to😐  so is it too risky being so soon ?

You'll probably be extremely uncomfortable. I personally wouldn't go.

I had a c section. I had a family reunion to go to 2 weeks after my baby was born, what i did was a brought a light pillow with me, and when I sat in the truck I had my seat reclined and I had the pillow on my stomach area under the seat belt and the travelling was smooth for me. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with

I did a 12 hour ride a week and a half after my c-section. It was a little uncomfortable but if you feel you can do the trip go ahead

It depends. Honestly, I was pretty much fine 1 week after my c-section, I was able to drive again and it wasn’t hurting nearly as much. I would have been fine to do a long drive at that point, would have loved having baby sleep and time to talk to my spouse :) 
But, everyone is different. I would see how you feel that day and decided. Either way I don’t think it’s medically risky or anything, you may just be uncomfortable. But, if your husband just got home and you have a 1 week old, I would guess you may be uncomfortable being home alone without hubby to help with the baby too.

I had a bad c section with a bad infection right after and I got on a plan to go across the country with my baby 2 weeks later. It was very tiring, I was exhausted by the end (mostly because I didn’t have a carrier yet and held my 10 pound baby the entire 9 hours worth of flights). I say go for it! Take a pillow to help make things a little softer and if you still have pain meds don’t skip any doses!

Honestly it depends in how your feeling personally, just make sure your comfortable and maybe take some pain killers on the way, get a pillow, tell him to go slow over bumps ect I had a section and had to get my mum to drive me home 4 days later mind you I was sixteen and bounced back really quickly and that was an hour and a half drive. Just depends on how you feel.
