C-Section?

Is c-section a choice besides pushing? Did you ever tell your doctor you wanted a c-section instead of pushing?

As someone who has had 2 vaginal births and 1 c section, I highly advise against c section unless medically necessary. The pushing is maybe an hour or 2 at the most, and if you have an epidural, it doesn't hurt. Even without it, it hurts, but then it's done.  My c section recovery was so painful for 2 weeks, I couldn't lay flat for a week, couldn't lift baby, couldn't get up the stairs of my house,  and my incision burned for a month. As far as pain goes, the pushing is far better in my opinion.

I wouldn’t wish a c-section on my worst enemy. I will be trying for a vbac with my second baby in June. Then again, it just depends on what your biggest fears are..

I BEGGED for a c-section with my first pregnancy but doctor told me they don’t do elective cesareans because they’re an emergency procedure only.

I had c-section with my first and will have a scheduled section in September. It’s optional for me BUT suggested since I’ve had 9 surgeries all on my stomach. My doctor wants to be prepared if something were to happen although we don’t think it will.

A c-section is a major surgery, and should only be done if necessary.. 
the recovery period is far longer for a c-section than it is for a vaginal birth.. 
If you have anxiety over “pushing” consult your dr, and they can give you options to help make it easier and less stressful for you!

I know ladies who just opted for a c section because they just didn’t want to push. I’m sure if you consult with your doctor they can just schedule you for it ..
