So my better half and I decided that if we catch our family spanking or smacking our son that we will spank them right back. Need to teach them some respect. Am I right or am I right? 🤷‍♂️

Really depends who did it and what for.... If my mom or dad popped my kid then I’m sure they might have needed it. Even if they didn’t need it I could still never bring myself to raise my hand to my parents... Now if it was anyone else yea I’d pop the shit out of them because if my child did something so bad to be popped then I think I should be the one to decide to pop them or any other type of punishment.

I totally agree that other adults shouldn't be the ones spanking your child... but if you're deciding not to spank your child but instead hit the other person just to prove a point, wouldn't that just be teaching your child that hitting others is acceptable? Why dont you just tell the other adult that you (the parent) will take care of disciplining the child? 🤷‍♀️

I don't agree with hitting anyone, child or adult. I wouldn't want to teach my children that hitting is justified in any situation other than self defense. If a family member did hit one of my kids, they wouldn't see any of them ever again. They all know my feelings on spankings well enough that there is NO room for confusion.
