Is it worth it?

For those of you that experienced excessive bleeding with your IUD was it worth it in the end? I have the Skyla and have been bleeding for six weeks and I am so annoyed by it.

I have a paragard (the one that makes your periods heavier) and while I do bleed.....excessively.....i still consider my choice to be worth it because I am not putting hormones into my body. I also love that once it's in you can just forget about it for 10 years. once I got past the year mark with mine I really started to like it. I love my iud.

I have Kyleena...I spotted the first 3-4 months. Now, 8 months in, I get a lighter/shorter period. My PMS cramps are a little worse than they were pre-IUD, but Advil takes care of them.
It’s REALLY nice to not constantly worry about being pregnant, and I never enjoyed condoms, so I would say it’s worth it to me. It takes about 6 months for the bleeding to even out, so I’d give it more time before you decide if it’s worth it! Hope this helps.

I’ve had a Mirena for nine years, no bleeding. It even stopped my period!
