In my experience no matter what your name is you will get picked on by someone anyway. Once you find a name you like and you feel good about it don't let anyone deter you from using it. I went to school with what we call typical black names and not a single teacher wanted to attempt my name. If they did they butchered it most of the time I was called by last name which didn't help much because Williams is so common. I mean seriously I was sitting next to a boy named Deshawn. My name is Darshani (I've been told it's a popular name in India). When you're in a sea of La's, Ja's and what was common for us at the time you get frustrated. My mama prepared me for it by helping to know my name early on. For my daughter I've already started to prepare her for the butching and picking of her name. Daenerys McKenzie and our last name starts with a V so the only thing they can pick on are her initials DMV. She has a list of nicknames Dany, Nary, Nerys, Kenzie as well as some odd combos. If someone comes up to her later on in life and tells her she's an insane dragon. She can stand up proudly and retort she is blood of the dragon. No really she is I was born in the year of the dragon. I'm trying to prepare her for everything a child could say about her name but there will be one out there that will come up with something.

Personally I think it sounds too much like Parmesan? But if you love it, do it! Don't worry about kids making fun of her for a name. My name is Heaven...I have gotten jokes about my name since I was born. By kids at school, teachers, parents, and still today...but I never saw someone making fun of my name as bullying lol it's just a name. If somebody called me like "Heavy Heaven" I would take consider that bullying because that would be referring to me not the name....but kids calling your daughter Parmesan or saying "heyyy you want some parmy for your pasta" isn't going to hurt her feelings or break her lol.

Honestly kids get bullied if they are not part of the dominant culture and her name reflects her culture. the way I see it you have two choices compromise and teach her to hide aspects of her cultural identity or give her a strong sense of culture and teach her to love herself and her culture. Either way she may still be bullied but at least if you teach her to be proud of her culture she will be able to withstand it. My parents (mostly my dad) tried to force assimilation onto me and I'm still trying to unlearn it now. I think it's a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning and she should wear it like a badge of honour.

I was called Nicoley oly ravioli. Kids are gunna be douches (excuse my better lack of words) either way if that's how they are raised. You can only teach your daughter to love herself and her name and others and not join the hate in the world. Dont try to "avoid or hide" her from hateful people. They are everywhere and always will be. Just have to teach her to embrace herself and who she is. Eff what other people say or think.

Is it pronounced Par-miss?
I think it sounds like an awesome namesake and a cool story, but maybe not a very pretty sounding word in English. Would she be going to schools in the US or somewhere else?
I don't know whether or how she might get made fun of (the only thing I can come up with is parmesan cheese), but I generally think unless there's some really horrible word similar to a name, then the name itself doesn't CAUSE a child to be a target. I don't think I'd worry about her getting teased for this name. It's not similar to any offensive words I can think of. 
That said, I think most people she meets (if she lives in the US--I can't speak for elsewhere) are unlikely to think it's an especially nice name. Some unfamiliar names sound pretty in English and some take some warming up to. I think people she meets would think "Parmys? Par-miss? Huh, weird." Over time they'd probably come to like her name, if they like her. Anyway I don't think she'd get made fun of, but I'd say it'd be a better middle name than a first name.
