Baby Registry?

Since Babies R Us closed I decided to do Target and Amazon. Those who have two registries are you putting the same things on them?

I have a babylist registry so I’m able to pull any item from any store(even Etsy) and put it on the registry. It also shows different stores with the same product and what they’re prices are so people can choose where to buy it from but still mark it as purchased. Since people don’t always exclusively shop from the registry store so they can get a better deal it helps with getting doubles of the same items and having to exchange/return one.

There was a similar thread a couple days ago about this. several people were suggesting BabyList. It takes things from like 10 different sites and puts them on one list. It even tells your shoppers where the cheapest place is. I transferred my Target and Amazon over to BabyList. It was super easy and now it is nice to have everything in one place.

I put some things on each, but did not duplicate...I mostly did Target and they have an option for things to be removed from the registry if people buy it from somewhere else so I figured anyone who would use amazon would be more internet savvy and could figure that out while having most on target will allow our older not internet savvy to drive into Target and see what is available and even order online while in store with help if need be

I put the same things on both my registries, unless they are only available at one. My reason for two registries is to give people a physical store location and an easy online option. Plus the registries are more of a shopping list and for coupons for me anyway. I did the same with my first kiddo and I didn’t get any double ups, although I had a smaller shower.

I put most of my items at Target and then everything that was out of stock that I wanted I put on my Amazon registry. I did put a couple of things on both registries that you can never have enough of like burp clothes, bibs, onsies, etc.

When i had my shower my first pregnancy I only did one registry, it worked well for me for returns, exchanges, and it wasn’t confusing for guests. They could buy online or at the local babies r us in person as most of what i had registered for was physically in that store! If you do two registries i wouldn’t personally register for the same items at both places bc you’ll likely get duplicates and then have more running around to do afterward!

I have 2, target is my main registry and I used buybuybaby for items target didn't have in stock or i didn't like what they have. I found that sometimes with target you put an item on your registry and then going back to "manage" your list the item shows out of stock. So I would put it on my 2nd registry and delete it from target.

I did two registries for my wedding and hated it.. it was confusing trying to decide what to ask for from each place and most people didn’t buy from my Amazon registry.  I also ended up with gift cards from both when I would have rather had gift cards just to one place so I could buy bigger items. We decided to only register at target this time.

I originally had 2 registries but decided on just 1 (Amazon) since you can now purchase items anywhere and just click the "already purchased" button on the online registry. I don't care where the items come from honestly, I'm just trying to give people an idea of what I'm interested in.
