how is/was your birth control experience ??and please leave what method (pill, patch, shot, etc.) you used

I used an iud but it fell out and was painful insertion. didn't go back to that. I used depo for 6 months and gained 60 pounds didn't go back to that. I can't use estrogen so I can't use the combo pill, the patch or the ring. I use the mini pill aka progesterone only pill which is still very effective. minor side effects breast tenderness, headache and spotting the first 3 months but those went away. no other complaints been on it for 4 years and don't use condoms or pull out and I haven't gotten pregnant.

I’ve been on the Mirena iud, the Depo shot, and numerous forms of the pills. 
I literally had the worst experience on all of them, but especially the iud. My periods were more irregular on the pill than they were off of birth control, I had a three month long period on Depo, and don’t even get me started on Mirena—awful cramps, acne, cysts under my armpits, irregular heavy bleeding, prolonged periods, excessive weight gain, became borderline suicidal and super depressed. 
However, I had worse than average experiences. My dr is pretty sure I am super sensitive to progesterone, which makes it extremely unlikely that I will be able to take any birth controls in the future. 
That being said, my bad luck with various birth controls is not common at all. Most people have something that work for them, I’m just not one of them.
