Breakup?

So I think my boyfriend and I broke up. He says nothing is wrong (I did nothing wrong) and there’s nothing to fix but he doesn’t think it’s working romantically...but he didn’t use the phrase break/split up…says he wants to be friends and then work our way back up and try again. He said he still likes me, and I’m the most beautiful, funny, hardworking, independent woman he’s ever met but we’re not gonna date right now. He has not been in a relationship since high school (we all know how most of those are). And neither have I. We’re both basically rookies at dating so we both aren’t really sure what is going on or what we’re feeling.

I’m so confused
