Is dating someone seriously at 14 to young ?

I’m dating a boy he’s one of  the sweetest nicest funniest boys just ever, we are both super mature and responsible and wouldn’t do much more than just kissing until we were old enough . I know he would never try to do anything, and he doesn’t distract me from home work ect but I’m still told that I’m still to young . We both really like and respect each other and take it slow so what’s the big deal with us  having a serious relationship, because I know we are both mature enough for it . Thoughts ?

No, to me it’s not about how old you are it’s about how mature the two people in the relationship are. As long as he respects you and you respect him, don’t worry about your age. There are people I see dating who are 20 and they shouldn’t be because they’re nowhere near ready for that. My family says it’s better to date while you’re in high school or at a younger age (14 minimum) so you’ll know how you should be treated and it’ll give you insight into the feeling of a relationship :)

I was 17 when i met my now husband, my cousin was 16 when she met her fiance that shes been with for the past like 7 years. my friend and her fiance have been together since she was I believe 15, almost 16, they're getting married in August. and her older sister met her husband of 10+ years when they were like 14 or 15

I don't see why you couldn't have a relationship but I don't like the idea of you having sex. Just because you should be old enough and mature enough to raise a kid and be with someone who you're ready to have a kid with. You never know what could happen, ya know? But that's just my opinion.
