Did birth stories help you prepare for labor?

Not really. I took an 8 hour childbirth class and still wasn't prepared for what was to come lol

Everyone just wants to tell me how horrid it is. Or how ridiculously large their baby was. Or how their sisters best friends cousin tore and need surgery. All I wanna hear is how you had an awesome experience and it wasn’t very painful. Cause honestly, thinking about birthing two is making me wanna puke

No, because everyone’s birth experience is different, it was helpful to me to take the childbirth class @ my hospital because then I knew all the different kinds of support that would be available to me before, during & after (both unmedicated & medicated), honestly all the images I saw of women being able give birth vaginally made me feel so sure that that’s what my experience would be & when it wasn’t (4.5 hours of pushing after 52 hours of labor, her 99 percentile head would not fit thru my pelvis, ended up w/ an unplanned csection)  I felt devastated like “That’s not what it was supposed to be like!”

They are nice to read/listen to but some make me more nervous when I read what went wrong with their labor for some ppl

Not really, but it was ok to read about everything that could happen and that most things are pretty normal.

I watched as many natural birth videos on YouTube as I could find.
