Will it work?

I’m 39+4 and getting a sweep Tom I’m 2.5 cm and 100% effaced. Do u think it will work? Has I.T worked for anybody else?

Honestly I think it’s a crap shoot if you do go into labor you might have gone into labor around the same time anyway.  I had it done last Thursday had contractions for 8 hours went to L&D; and wasn’t progressing so was sent home to sleep and they faded away.  It’s now Sunday and nothing 😆. He will offer again next Thursday but I don’t think I’ll do it because fake labor is no fun lol good luck!  Oh and it doesn’t hurt hurt but it’s verrrrrry uncomfortable.  Make sure to empty bladder first cause lots of pressure!

Perfect question. I am getting one tomorrow too. I am 4cm though. Expecting baby boy. I’ll be exactly 39 weeks. I just want to know if it hurts? My husband will be with me, but I want to be prepared if I’ll be uncomfortable.

I had one done at 38+6 and at 2 cm, 75% effaced with baby at -2..
That was Wednesday morning at 9am.. finally this morning around 2 am I woke up to my bloody show and I’m having decent contractions that are regular and becoming more painful- I don’t not think the sweep had anything to do with it.
My dr said it’s really 50/50.. if your body is ready it will work, if your body isn’t.. well it won’t work 🤷🏼‍♀️

Its worked for me both times I had it, this is my 3rd, and I will be opting to have it done at my next apt wed. However I have had some people tell me it never worked for them. So don’t depend on it but walk walk walk as much as possible the days after it. FYI.....it is uncomfortable

I got one Friday and on Sunday afternoon went into labor. currently in L&D...; these contractions hurt!!!
I had the sweep at 11 am Friday morning, sorry to say but for me it was a very painful experience... doesn't seem to be for others though so I guess it depends...
lost my mucus plug Saturday afternoon, started with lots of BH and then woke up Sunday with backache and random contractions... by 1am they were 5-1-1 so came in to hospital.
now I'm just waiting to dilate a bit more....
I should add that I don't know if it was the sweep or just my due date that got things going, but I did walk A LOT Friday and Saturday to get things moving!

Worked for me last time. Hubby and I went on a LONG walk that night with hills/stairs. I fell asleep and by morning my water broke. I’d like to try the same thing this time. It was a painful walk, but labor went super quick. I say if you get it done, take advantage by doing something a little strenuous

I think it worked for me. I had mine done on a Thursday at 39+1 (did not hurt at all) just caused cramping and that went away but early Saturday morning about 4am i started having contractions and sweet boy came that night at 615pm. my doctor said it only works if your body is ready and you are about to go into labor soon anyways.
