I need some advice...

So, me and my boyfriend have been together for a year, this is our last year of high school and he wants to be a doctor. his family and most of his friends are constantly telling him that he has to leave me because studying med is really hard and he has to sacrifice some things like our relationship in order to be a good doctor. like a month ago we talked and he tried to break up with me because of that, i told him that i didn’t want to take such an important decision, so we agreed that we would talk about that later, i really want us to try stay in our relationship, i told him that i would wait for him and try to be as supportive as possible but he isn’t really sure if that’s the decision we’re going to make, he believes that breaking up it is the right thing to do because of what other people told him. i know he loves me, so i would like to hear your advice or maybe some stories about being in a relationship with someone that’s studying med, thank you!
