I'm 26 and my husband is 29. We are having our third (and last) baby tomorrow! Very excited! I was offered as part of my caesaren to have my tubes tied which I refused because we had always agreed that my husband would have the snip because it's more effective (1 in 2000 whereas tubes are 1 in 200) and also I'm reluctant to mess around with my insides anymore after 3 quite traumatic pregnancies and 2 traumatic births. My husband has been to the doctor today and been refused becaude he's too young?! Even though it was fine for me and he's older than me. Do you think it's fair for a doctor to refuse a referral purely based on age and apparently gender? I think that every request should be referred and then more extensive counselling should be done from then on.
